Action Plus Bail Bonds of Pinellas County is offering free alcohol testers to parents.
According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, approximately 5,000 young people under the age of 21 die as a result of underage drinking each year; this includes about 1,900 deaths from motor vehicle crashes, 1,600 as a result of homicides, 300 from suicide, as well as hundreds from other injuries such as falls, burns, and drownings. Frank Kopczynski, owner of Action Plus Bail Bonds has worked with people in the criminal justice system for more than 22 years and has seen his share of alcohol-related incidents. “Many parents of teenage drivers struggle with the issue of how to keep their kids safe,” Frank said. “This is a great tool for deterring underage alcohol abuse while encouraging kids to make better choices.” It is an alcohol test that can identify someone’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC) by breaking the ampule and blowing into it for 12 seconds.
The crystals inside will turn blue/green in the presence of any alcohol.
