CheckBAC FAQ
Rinse your mouth out with water and wash your hands with soap and water. Change the location/environment of where you took the positive test and refrain from eating, drinking, or smoking. Wait 15 minutes and resubmit your test. Repeat until BrAC reading returns as 0.00 .
The times for testing are flexible. Our requirements are a minimum of 4 tests per day and no more than 6 hours between tests, except for a once daily 9-hour gap to allow for sleep. We recommend taking a test immediately upon waking and immediately prior to going to sleep. Court ordered monitoring or monitoring agreed upon in mediation may require a schedule or more frequent testing.
You may take as many tests as you want or need as long as it does not infringe upon our testing requirements.
No. The breathalyzer runs on two AAA batteries. Slide off the cover of the device to expose the battery slots. The breathalyzer display will give you an alert when the battery is running low.
Force quit and reopen the application or turn your smartphone off and on again. Ensure all permissions are enabled for the CheckBAC application.
Tests may not be submitted due to a variety of reasons. Weak internet connection is the most common cause. Try moving to an area with stronger cell reception or in areas of poor reception, connect to a strong Wi-Fi network. Keep in mind, your phone is uploading a video file. This requires a stronger connection than simple internet browsing. Otherwise, ensure all permissions for the app are enabled and that you are on the latest version of the app. Ensure that enough memory and storage are available for the app by closing background apps and that your onboard storage is not full.
You will get a text message receipt for all tests that our server has received. If you do not have a text message receipt after taking a test, then we have not received your test.
The app accesses your smartphone’s camera and microphone and records you while a test is being submitted. You must ensure your face is clearly visible with ample light. The videos are permanently stored, manually reviewed, and may be subject to submission to the courts depending on your case requirement.
Contact our office to purchase a new breathalyzer device. Any devices purchased through third party vendors will not be accepted. This to ensure no tampering has occurred for that unit and that the device is properly calibrated upon being issued.
Challenging Results
If the breathalyzer detects any positive alcohol readings and you wish to challenge the readings, lab tests (e.g. blood, urine, or hair) may be submitted to Tampa Bay Monitoring. Any lab tests performed will be at your own expense. Lab tests results that are submitted to Tampa Bay Monitoring outside their respective alcohol detection windows will not be accepted. The detection window begins at the time the breathalyzer has recorded a positive reading. All lab results must be emailed directly from the lab to [email protected]. Forwarded emails will not be accepted.
Please Note: There is no guarantee that the courts will accept lab test results as evidence. We strongly advise you consult your attorney before taking any action.
