Nearly 3 million Americans are at risk of losing their addiction treatment coverage.
According to a recent research conducted at Harvard and public service at New York University, nearly 3 million Americans treated for addiciton would lose either some or all of their coverage. Specifically about 222,000 of those with opioid addiction would lose treatment. The impact of repealing ACA related to mental and substance use disorders would no doubt have adverse effects on certain states that have seen the highest increases in opioid-related deaths.
